Waverly (MI) OL Ramadan Ahmeti talks CMU pledge
As reported earlier today by ChippewaCountry, Central Michigan received two commitments at their individual camp and they made their first mark in-state as a result. Ithaca quarterback Alex Niznak was the first to commit this morning, and shortly after he was joined by Waverly offensive lineman Ramadan Ahmeti.
"I just liked the location, the coaching staff and the academics at CMU," said Ahmeti. "And it's a good football school. It just felt good and it was the right fit for me."
Ahmeti became the 5th member of the Chippewas 2011 class and he joins fell Wavery Warrior and 2010 CMU commit Andy Phillips.
"The first person I think I told was my high school coach," added Ahmeti. "But I told Andy and he knows also. He's a good friend of mine and he was just really pumped when I told him. It's going to be really cool to keep playing with him."
And Phillips wasn't the only person excited about Ahmeti's commitment to the Chippewas.
"When I told the CMU coaches they were real excited. They were excited to get another commit after they already got one earlier in Alex. I actually met Alex later in the day and we shook hands and talked for a second. He seems like a really nice guy and I can't wait to play with him at CMU."
Although last year was a bit of an anomaly with decommitments at CMU due to the coaching change, Chippewa fan have been stung in the past when players have reneged on their choice of CMU
but Ahmeti made it clear that would not be the case with him.
"Doesn't matter if Big Ten schools offer or anything, I gave he CMU coaches my word and I'm sticking to it. I'm happy to be a Chippewa."
